Does contending with climate change and other human and planetary health challenges make you feel stressed, hopeless, or disempowered? Please join CIRCLE (Community-minded Interventions for Resilience, Climate Leadership and Emotional Wellbeing, a special initiative of the Stanford Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences), the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health, and the Stanford Center for Human and Planetary Health in a documentary screening and discussion on Monday, April 13, 4-6pm, in LKSC 130. We will be screening Climate in Therapy, a documentary where seven renowned climate scientists step into group therapy to explore an unknown area of research: their own emotions.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring perspectives from climate science, human and planetary health, and climate psychology, along with the Climate in Therapy film director. In a conversation led by Desiree LaBeaud (Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Dean of Global Health), panelists will explore how they navigate their own emotions as they pursue research in climate, health, and justice and try to advance a more resilient future.

Speakers include: Steve Luby (Lucy Becker Professor of Medicine, Director of the Center for Human and Planetary Health), Maxine Burkett (Emerson Collective Professor of Climate, Environment, and Society and Director of the Center for Just Environmental Futures), Debra Safer (Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences), Craig Forte (Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences), and Nathan Grossman (award-winning Climate in Therapy film director).

Light refreshments will be provided. Learn more about the Climate in Therapy documentary here: climateintherapy.com
